Liz Maclarty Jones is an artist working from her studio in Auchencrow in the Scottish Borders.
BA (hons) MA Industrial Ceramic Design, MBA

She originally studied Fine Art at Leeds University followed by a career as studio potter, industrial ceramic designer, design manager and finally university academic. This interesting and diverse international career, saw her focus move from hands-on artist to designer managing and nurturing creativity in others.

Now retired in the stunning Scottish Borders she has, after 40 years, returned to full time painting working predominantly with coastal landscape. In her most recent work, her earlier figurative design has given way to emerging exploration and development around questions of figuration and abstraction, using plein air studies of the coastline and harbours and her love and empathy for the Borders landscape.
